This blog post is based on a short demo that we recently did featuring Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing Forms . If you’d like to follow along and watch as you read, you can tune in here . Inside of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing, navigate to “ Marketing Forms ” on your toolbar that is on the left-hand side of your screen. You will find them under “ Internet Marketing .” In this demo, our specialist pre-created a form to show you how to use them best. If you watched our demo om Microsoft Dynamics 365 Email Marketing , these forms will look very familiar. The editor is built on the same Designer framework you’ll see in other areas of Dynamics 365 Marketing. You can several types of forms in the app. In this demo, we start with a form that is classified as a landing page, though you can also have forms that are a/an: Landing page Subscription center Subscription centers are helpful if you have multiple different email newsletters you want your audience to be able to opt-in or opt-out of. Forward to a friend Event Registration There is an event module with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing where you can create different registration forms to allow your audience to sign up for any of your upcoming events. Landing pages are the most common type of form you will probably use in the system, however. You can select several different preset form templates provided by Microsoft to create your landing page. Just like with email templates, we highly recommend that you create your own Microsoft Dynamics 365 marketing form templates . This helps you maintain clear brand identity across multiple channels of communication with your target audiences. You can create these forms and add filters and different criteria to them so that they are easy to find as you create various forms. This is a great organizational feature for larger teams that use a lot of marketing assets. The best practice is to create your own template to ensure consistency across communication channels. In the example in this demo, we include a header image in our form along with various form fields and a clear call-to-action. If you have prepared a form, but realize you are missing a form field, such as in this case where we are missing state, you can use your Toolbox to modify your form. If you watched the Email Marketing demo , you know you have different layouts you can apply, such as basic elements (text, images, dividers, buttons, and content blocks), advanced elements (Reset button, Captcha, and Submit button), and, unlike Email Marketing, fields. For forms, we are going to use the field, “ State .” Once you click on this form field, plus signs will appear on your form indicating where you can add this field. Add the state field wherever you’d like it placed, then modify the field accordingly. For this example, we define our properties in the “ Properties ” menu with the state placeholder and then revisit our form field options. There are some out-of-the-box fields that come with your environment, but you can also link a field to any field you’ve created on your account or lead record. In the 2020 wave 2 update of Dynamics 365 Marketing, you can now map form fields to other entities, making these forms much more powerful. To create your own field, go to the “ Look for default value ” search bar under “ Fields ” and click on “ + New Marketing Form field .” A “ Quick Create ” menu will pop-up over the right-hand side of your screen. For this field, we are going to name it “ Demo ,” and define our field type as “ Single line of text ,” though there are many options you can choose from. Next, you will define your format. For this area, you can select: Text Text area Email URL  or Phone For this field, we select “ text” and define the Rendering Control as a “text box.” The most powerful part of this feature is the ability to map this field to a specific field in your database. In this demo, we included a range of field types to show the wide variety of examples you have available to you. So, now that you’ve created your field, the field “Demo” is available to you. You will follow the same process as above to add it to your form. From here, you can go into your form and edit your HTML if you’d like to assign it a highly specific format; otherwise, you can jump to the “ preview ” mode. It is very similar to preview modes in other tools that show you how the form will look on different devices and at different orientations. Once you’re happy with the preview, you can add the form to your website or use it as part of your landing pages, and it will start collecting information that you can use in your  Customer Journeys . Once deployed, you will start to gather form-specific Insights – analytics and metrics – inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Marketing Form s. Information is automatically captured once your form is live on your public-facing landing pages or websites.
