Both fields are lookups to account, though, so wouldn't they be looking at the same index? I can try it when I get a chance, but I'd be even more confused if it actually worked. :-D The other difference is that advanced find you're giving a specific field to search, whereas quick is just searching all of the specified ones at once. I'm just wondering if it's something to do with that...? I might try to set up similar test cases (lookups to the same entity in there twice), maybe all with OOTB entities, and see if I see anything consistent...
