The client machine should have the same roll-up with the server roll-up.
The error is very complex as we cannot figure out what the error could be. There's no given error ID or any unique identifier.
Please do the following steps as I have encountered the same error:
1. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features on or off
2. Verify if .Net Framework 3.5 and Windows Identity Foundation 3.5 are checked.
3. Reconnect CRM for Outlook.
This one works for me as i am also running CRM for outlook 2013 with windows 8 both running on x64
